The Maldives is an archipelago of 1,200 coral islands scattered across the Indian Ocean — and it is, quite simply, one of the most beautiful places on earth. The water here is an impossible shade of turquoise. The beaches are powder-white. The coral reefs teem with manta rays, whale sharks, and technicolour fish.

The Maldives pioneered the overwater bungalow concept, and today its resorts set the global standard for luxury travel. Each resort occupies its own private island — a world unto itself, accessible only by speedboat or seaplane.

This is a destination for honeymooners, anniversary celebrations, and anyone who has ever dreamed of waking up above a turquoise lagoon. It is not cheap — but it is unforgettable.

Travel Tips

01
Seaplane vs Speedboat

Resorts closer to Malé use speedboats (cheaper, 30–90 mins). Remote resorts require a seaplane transfer (scenic but expensive, ~$500 return). Factor this into your budget.

02
Best Time to Go

The dry season (November–April) offers the best weather, visibility, and diving conditions. The wet season (May–October) brings lower prices and fewer crowds.

03
Choose Your Resort

Each resort is a private island — choose carefully based on your priorities: diving, romance, family, budget, or ultra-luxury. We can help you find the perfect match.

04
Getting There

Velana International Airport (MLE) in Malé is the main hub. Most travellers connect via Dubai, Singapore, or Doha. Emirates and Qatar Airways offer excellent connections.
